Lancashire Equality Mark

Mawdesley St .Peter’s CE Primary School is a Voluntary Aided School and our religion and moral teaching is based upon the traditions of the Church of England with Christianity at the very heart of every aspect of school life. We are a modern school, looking to the future and seeking to provide all our children with a sound and forward looking education. Mawdesley St. Peter’s is a small School, which enables us to see each child as an individual, for each child to know and be known.

In recent years we have been awarded with the Our Race Equality Mark which as now been replaced with the Lancashire Equality Mark.

The Lancashire Equality Mark covers five areas:

  • Race Equality
  • Gender Equality
  • Disability Equality
  • Religion and Belief Equality
  • Sexual Orientation Equality

We are currently working towards accreditation in these areas to give our school the Lancashire Equality Mark and follow the Equality Charter

Our school has also written our own equality objectives:

1. To promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through all appropriate curricular opportunities, regarding issues of equality and diversity.

2. To reduce prejudice and increase understanding of equality through direct teaching and worship

3. To narrow the gap between boys and girls attitudes to Maths across KS2

If you have any questions on this, please contact us, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
