Welcome to our school

VISITS TO SCHOOL

Come and have a look around and see for yourself what a lovely, friendly school we are. Don't worry if you didn't make the open day as we are happy to find a mutually convenient time for you to visit throughout the year.

We look forward to welcoming you.

‘Let your light shine before others.’

 Matthew 5:16

‘With Jesus as our guide, St Peter’s is a loving school family, which equips children and adults with the strength, courage and belief to flourish and live life in all its fullness.

We hope to ignite a lifelong love of learning, helping our children to discover and use their own individual gifts. By letting their light shine brightly, they will make the world a better place.’

Welcome to Mawdesley St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, where we are blessed to be situated in a picturesque village and nestled in the heart of a vibrant community, making it a wonderful setting in which to learn and explore. Indeed, we utilise our surrounding area effectively, where we offer Forest School opportunities to all our children, led by one of our members of staff who is a Trained Forest School Leader.

The children are at the heart of everything we do at Mawdesley St Peter’s and our vision is to lead them into making the very best choices so that they achieve their full potential. Our strong Christian Ethos and our School Vision run through everything that we do in school, whilst our 3-word vision - Believe, Achieve, Shine – helps us to focus on the fact that with God’s help, we can do anything that we put our minds to. Our aim is to instill strong Christian values in our children, so that they are confident in themselves and believe that their choices are the right decisions. We hope to embed these values, and help them grow into young adults that will make a difference, now and in the future.

Ofsted recognises that our school, “Has a calm, purposeful atmosphere, where staff and pupils respect each other. Teaching staff have high expectations of pupils, which means that pupils are motivated to work hard in lessons. They feel proud to be part of the school ‘family’. The pupils also said that the school is fun and they feel safe and that their teachers care for them.” (June 2021)

We have close links with the two churches in our village and worship is an important part of our daily school life. As well as our links with the churches, working closely in partnership with our parents is important to us and we value all the support that they give us. As part of this partnership, we have a wonderfully active PTFA who work incredibly hard to raise funds for our lovely school. We are always looking for new members and new ideas, so we look forward to hearing from you.

You can be assured that our committed Governing Body and dedicated and experienced School Staff Team, have the very best interests of each child at the forefront of all that they do. We have worked hard to develop an engaging curriculum that will motivate the children and engage their curiosity and keenness to learn.

It is a privilege to be the Headteacher of Mawdesley St Peter’s. I strive to do the very best job that I can, and I look forward to another busy but rewarding year. If you need any further assistance or have any unanswered questions, please do not hesitate to contact school either by phone, or via an email on [email protected]
