Tearfund
What is Tearfund?
Tearfund is a Christian charity committed to following the example of Jesus, by going wherever the need is greatest.
They work tirelessly to help communities escape the very worst effects of poverty and disaster and they believe that the same people facing these troubles also have the best ideas about the ways they can overcome them.
Tearfund listens: helping people to utilise their resourcefulness and determination to overcome their circumstances.
When disaster strikes, Tearfund and its local partners are usually already present, hard at work in those very places. They have been responding to emergencies since 1968. They work alongside local churches and Christian organisations wherever possible; they know the people, they know the problems and so often they can see simple, inexpensive solutions.
Tearfund also work hard to make sure that, as communities rebuild, they become more prepared and resilient, should disaster strike again.
Tearfund is passionate about advocating for change. This way they can address many of the underlying injustices that make people vulnerable to poverty and disasters in the first place.
What can we do to help?
Again this year, we will be serving Toast Monday through to Thursday and Biscuits on each Friday.
Each week, a class will take turn in donating and bringing biscuits into school. The rota for this will be sent out each term by email. All money raised from biscuits on a Friday will go directly to Tearfund, to wherever the need is most.
We would like to thank you all for your continued support and generosity.
